Anyone managed to find a good recipe for painting DCU pattern (the uniform after the chocolate chips one)? thank you |

Hi Repaint, I've tried a few things, mostly a matter of taste I suppose.
These are 15mm using Desert Yellow Krylon as primer, then Military Brown and Pale Green. I think they're the right colors, but they look like 'boots' with brand new uniforms, just arrived in country.
For some reason it looks better to me (the boonie cover) on 20mm, but too bright for the smaller 15mm.
I tried that same Kyrlon Desert Yellow primer and Military Brown, but then this time I replaced Pale Green with Sand. Definitely not the right colors, but looks better to me.
From my perspective, the one that turned out best was actually dropping the third color and just going Krylon Desert Sand primer with Military Brown squiggles.
Another look, this time at some Rebel Minis SOF I painted up as Delta for Mogadishu. Can't believe I sold these… Hope that helps. V/R, Jack |

Thanks Jack, the one you said that are not the right color really looks good. I am going for 15mm, that will work very well I believe. Cheers! |
