I wanted to have this iconic chopper for my Vietnam war collection and so i bought the above pictured Trumpeter model in 1/48. I wanted to use the new pilot miniatures from Empress Miniatures for this model. Normally the scale 1/48 isn't that far of and usable with 28mm figures as you can see here:

The 1/48 trumpeter model crewed with Empress Miniatures 28mm pilots.

And alongside some Empress Marines:

Great work! How did you make the flight stand?

That looks fantastic, I love it!

Meanwhile, I've been dashing my brains out trying to find one in 15mm-1/100, to no avail…

Great looking Seahorse, Tom! The "HUS" saw as much service in the Marines as did the C-46 Sea Knight. Looks awesome with your figs. Beautiful work, Tom! Thanks for sharing.

Fascinating to see how this turned out.

We had much earlier discussion about how we could overcome the apparent scale differences.

This worked out great and I see you did go for the "leg extension" option in the end. It is so tricky to work out what "scale" is any 28mm range. One thing I have learnt is that 28mm can be anything from 1/48 to 1/56 and that is a big difference. Of course the trick is to measure the M16 length, not the height of the figure, a constantly repeated message. The kit determines scale.

How the….heck…did you manage the canopy frames? and yes, you need those door gunners now!

The flight stand is a old style car arial. I get them from e bay . They are quite cheap and you find them very frequently as they are used for old-timer repair.

The frame of the canopy was freehand

That looks swell. I have been eyeing that kit for awhile. Your rendition sold me. I also like the leg extensions. Well done!
