I've been trying to research West German TO&Es in the 70's and 80's. I have a source that shows during the 70's, the Panzergrenadier Platoon had 4 squads, and 5 Marder or M113G. Can anyone confirm this, and if this is right, did this TO&E ever change to 3 Squads and 4 Marders?

I know the Panzer platoon was 5 Tanks in the 70's, did the West German's ever change to the 4 tank platoon?

Thanks,

Bob

The WGs went to 3 tanks briefly per platoon, before ultimately settling on 4 afterwards.

You are correct, in the 1950s – 1970s, there were 5 tanks, and/or IFVs per platoon.
