At Borodino in the Russian III Corps I find the 1st Grenadier Division with 6 Grenadier Regiments – Leib, Count Arakcheyev, Pavlovsk, Yekaterinoslave, St. Petersburg and Tavrida. In V Corps I find the Guard Infantry Division with 6 Life Guard Regiments – Preobrazhensk, Semeyonovsk, Izmailovsk, Lithuanian, Jaeger and Finland. What is the difference in uniform of these regiments? Pavlovsk with the old style miter hats I get, but what is the difference between Grenadier and Life Guard uniforms? Specifically, can I use the Zvezda #8020 for both? |

Uniforms not much but fasings and all the intricate details are different. I built my Russians around 1st Western Army of Borodino but don't stick to that year's uniform. Figures are what I could get, so some have bush plumes some thin plumes. I preferred to have my grenadiers with plumes. Of course you can follow link |

A rather noticeable difference between the entire Guard and the grenadiers of the line infantry: on the shako, instead of a grenade with three tongues of flame, there is an image of the state emblem (two-headed eagle). Life Guard Lithuanian Regiment has on the chest red lapels. |
