Curiously, I am suddenly interested in 28mm minis that can depict US militia groups.

I have found these from Spectre and Copplestone:

Anyone know suitable minis for this type?

Given the mix of military gear and such, I would think you could use 28mm modern US Special Forces, BUT paint some of the articles of clothing in civilian colors/patterns. Like black tactical trousers, with red flannel blouse… that kind of thing.

I think lots of black clothing though, mixed with woodland camo, would work too.

If you can find the warlord games male survivors from their zombie game they make good low quality militia. Some military gear. Some police officers. A chubby guy in flip flops. Very post apoc feel.

For some reason, most manufacturers don't want to put fat people in military uniforms, so there goes a big chunk of your militia. Look at survivors in zombie games. Walking Dead: All Out War, and Zombicide miniatures are still in production.

These would work. You would probably want some less "fit" militia members as well. For attire, military style pants in khaki, OD or camo with t-shirts and Hawaiian print shirts and baseball caps would work for the current groups en vogue today.

Empress Miniatures is also worth taking a look at.

A lot of Cold War surplus is out there. I imagine someone has made Cold War US Army figures by now.

Get some greenstuff to add beards to some of your clean shaven soldiers.

I found these too from Foundry and Studio Miniatures:

The Spec Ops team might work. Also, the Aryan and bikers might make for less organized, less well kitted out anti-government groups.

Maybe these Pig iron minis but with different heads, either bare or in ball caps? Or, maybe even the ski mask heads.

The Militia Miniatures also look promising:

I was going to suggest Militia Miniatures -- I got in a Kickstarter which included militia sort-of based, I would guess, on Far Cry 5. You can pick them up here: link

A mixture of "zombie survivor" and modern special forces figures should be about right. I've been involved in various militia groups since shortly after high school and the characters you meet run the gamut. Fat guys, skinny guys, fit guys, and everything from civilian clothes to recent surplus to $300 USD Crye Precision pants! I've even seen one or two guys with Vietnam-era helmets and web gear. You can't go too far wrong unless they look too uniform or have things like GPNVGs.

As for me personally, I usually wear Multicam pants, a t-shirt or flame-retardant combat shirt, rifle plates, a ball cap, and headset.
