I played a Dahlgren and Columbiad game today, using my scratch built 1/2400th terrain and ironclads, based on the action between the CSS Arkansas and USS Essex in August 1862:

I really like the river terrain and noticed your interest in early submarines – are you interested in a book on them as I'm having to down-size my book collection. I used to comment directly on your blog but that doesn't seem to work any more but still enjoying all your posts.

Thanks,

I've had to start filtering the comments on the blog due to the avalanche of spam.

The book sounds cool but I have more books than I can possibly justify to the other half!

Her plan is to stack them up under my coffin when I kick the bucket!

The brown river looks very good. I've flown over the Mississippi, I know it's brown, and I tried to paint the bases for my ships brown. Unfortunately, they came out looking like they had run aground on a mud bar. So I gave up and went with blue. Your river looks so good, I may have to rethink this!

Thanks.

I deliberately made it a dark red brown so I could use it for Vietnam riverine games.

How does D&C play solo?

I tried brown bases as well, but it just looked wrong.
