We have released the newest Might Armies book though Kickstarter. I have been getting emails with questions, so I thought I would start a thread. I'll posy more info soon about some of the tweaks we made, new spells, ect… RebelMike Cover:

I thought I would add a link to the KickStarter: link The "Mighty Armies" system is a very quick play system sort of like DBA (De Bellis Antiquitatis) for fantasy. Small play area, fewer figures, than most any other fantasy out there. |

So…are the rules exactly the same as the existing Mighty Armies Fantasy just with new army lists, or did you clean them up -adding more examples, some wording changes, maybe slightly altered some rules…? |

The core rules are essentially the same. We have switched up shooting rules some and have also added some different abilities. Also, there are different types of spellcasters, each with their own list of spells. Those are the main changes off the top of my head David splinteredlightminis.com |

Ah, modified the shooting rules. That is a very good idea. The rules are quite fun and far better than DBA or HOTT in my opinion. Loads of army lists. Nice to see a focus on MA again. Thanks. John |

As someone who greatly enjoys the old Mighty Armies and is a huge fan/collector of Splintered Light figures it is cool to see some more attention for the rules etc. But I am a little baffled as to why you two are running a Kickstarter, it seems like you already have the products (existing minis already in production, minor changes to rules). At first I was excited that you might be trying to get a new line or two into production, or adding a detailed campaign system or something…I think it is a missed opportunity, after all Kickstarter is for getting new ideas to market. Don't get me wrong, you are two of my favorite war game companies, hope it succeeds for you! |
