…Very soon. "The Air Force recently announced it secretly designed, built, and flew a new fighter jet in a mere year.
The plane is shrouded in mystery, with only its existence confirmed to the general public. Three big questions: What is the plane's mission? Who built it? And when do we get to see it?…" Main page link Amicalement Armand |

I'd love to see it. Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that with it being produced so quickly, this may be the A-12 USN attack plane, or some sort of derivative of it? Anyone got the inside scoop, or "in the know" contacts to confirm or refute that? |

It's a very stealthy design. In fact, here is a picture of it ready for take off. :)

Seriously, though, I doubt it's an A-12 derivative. That design is now decades old (and pre-dates the Super-Bug F/A-18 E/F/G). It is likely a whole cloth new design but based on the knowledge base gathered over that time period. I'd suspect it's a Lockheed Martin design since they are the leader in terms of experience, but Boeing has done stealth design for both manned and unmanned aircraft. I'm curious to see where this new 'century series' approach leads us (but remember that most of the century series were ultimately considered either failures at worst or transitional designs at best). |

It will only cost $21.3 USD billion per plane, and the production tools will be destroyed after 11 are produced. Why would we need more? |
