I've done similar 2.75D terrain for select D&D games, but I will only do it for special sessions, where I want full mini-immersion. It is too much work for normal RPG sessions. We play open sandbox, with 80-99% ad-lib.

Full terrain setups require I lead the players by the nose… I limit such games, employing a Chessex vinyl mat, with Crayola water-based pens, as needed. My games go in unforeseen directions, and we are all good with that.

I have a load of 2D dungeon tiles which rarely get used. I am not their type of customer. I wish them well, though. It is a fantastic product. Cheers!
