Gentlemen, Thank you for the kind words. I am preparing three additional lists for the same dates. These are applicable for the many internal conflicts within the empire. Should appear this Sunday. Cheers, |

Very nice work, especially the flags. |

No idea how good your German ist, but the Zeughaus-Verlag released an issue on the Böckler- and Löwlerkriege, two minor wars in Bavaria in the second half of the 16th century. Those of your minis not depicting Landsknechts would feel right at home at these :-) link |

Puster, Thank you for the link. Not to worry about the Landsknechts as they can be replaced by spearmen and halberdiers. The Heere & Waffen series have a number of interesting publications covering this period. Die Ennetbirgischen Feldzüge, Der Venezianenerkrieg, Der Deutsche Orden im 13jährigen Krieg to name a few. Placed on my ‘to purchase' list. Cheers, |

I have several of their publications (all of those mentioned among them) and find them generally full of information, though the illustrations are well below the Osprey standard and the photos – mainly taken from reenectors – show historical accurate equipment, but often the same group. At their price they are imho worth it for covering topics where you do not find anything else, though not a bargain. If in doubt, start with the 13year war. The story of escalating the situation from peace to war often reads like a template for Game of Thrones (the political aspects, not the sex&crime). That said, take a look at Khurasans 15mm selection for the Italian wars – they managed not to like that page for half a year, so it went below the horizon for many. The Gensdarmes and especially the guns are fine stuff :-) link |

An additional list has been added. This covers the mercenary bands that sought employment such as the Frisian Black Guard. Raised in East Frisia, their original strength of 6,000 included mounted knights, pikemen, handgunners and a small number of artillery. link |
