Anybody know what tools, equipment, vehicles these companies would have carried into the field?

This might help with some of your question.

Not sure on numbers though. I suspect a standard wagon was used. I use the Perry model for my Russian engineers.

This excellent site may also be a help in constructing engineers.

Nice link, artilleryman.

I have tried converting artillery men into pioneers, try using the pole armed into implements.

Outstanding figures, Artilleryman. Thanks for the link. Great poses. And yeah, infantry conversions are indicated, along with some artillery figs. Problem with artillery figures is that generally there are too few of them to spare.

And especially for the picture of the tools. Very useful.

Check in Napoleonics . The Russian pioneer model is based on a period drawing

Agreed. Having the tools to afix will make life so much easier,,,,

I regularly have to modify figs into new standard bearers as my range only ever supplied sous-officers, whereas they are mainly applicable 'after regulation' mid-Empire, my early Empire needs are lesser NCOs uniforms.
