I haven't seen much written or discussed about the Ultracombat Normandy rules from Dishdash games but my regular opponent joined in a demonstration game at Cancon in January and was impressed enough to buy the rules.

We've finally got around to giving them a try and so far we've been underwhelmed with the experience. I don't like to be too quick to judge but sometimes you can get enough of a feeling to know that these are not working for you. That was certainly the case for us.

I've put my thoughts and observations into a longer review that you can read here Ultracombat Normandy review

Good review. I have not of the rules before.

If you have access to Google Translator, this link describes a game played with Ultracombat Normandy. Quite a lot of fun!

Pity. Being a bit of a rules junkie I had picked these up at one of our conventions but have yet to give them a try. Sounds like they may end up just another part of my collection/reference library.

Thanks for the comprehensive review

Getting bogged down in minutiae does not make a game better.

Watched the demo video for these rules and they seem OK, but damn expensive if you need to buy all the cards as well.
