I don't usually post AAR's here on TMP, but I'm rather pleased with this one. Americans, Philippine Republic, an amphibious force. This one was fun. First game with these figures that was three years in the making. link |

Nice looking figs and game. Also a very rare wargaming period. |

It was a fun game and the figures looked great. I'm glad we had a chance to play it before the weather turns. |

I was one of the Philippine Republican players and even though we had a tough time the game was a delight to play. Those 1898 figures are superb and the terrain set the stage well. I hope we get another chance to do this again soon. You might consider posting more AARs here if for no other reason than to let others know more about your blog. |

Fantastic! This is something I have always wanted to model. Please tell me your source of figures, especially for the Republican troops and Tribal militia. |

I believe he got most, if not all of his figures from 1898 Miniatures, available both from Spain and from Badger Games: TMP link |

Big Red is correct. All the Philippine figures including the tribal figures are 1898 Miniaturas. If you want large quantities I encourage you to buy the sets. They make three units and are a bit cheaper than buying the individual packs. The American regular units are also 1898 Miniaturas. I have their standard field guns and their Gatlings. The Volunteers, Marines and sailors are Old Glory--very serviceable minis. I also have one unit of mounted U.S. Cavalry by OG. The mountain howitzer, Colt Machine gun and Marine one-pounder are all by Tiger Miniatures. There are several entries on my blog about assembling and painting this army. link link If you have an interest in the conflict, I highly recommend reading Brian Linn's wonderful book "The Philippine War 1899-1902." |

Beautiful terrain and minis! I'd love to play in this game. Please do post more AAR's. I hope to see this game on the convention circuit some day, maybe when the world gets a bit right again. I too use Dan's boats, he's a buddy of mine. Awesome ships for a great price. Cheers, JB |
