I liked this. I enjoy seeing early war actions especially in my favorite scale! Nicely done!

thumbs up

Thanks

I just watched the movie ("April 9" on Amazon Prime) a few days ago. Good movie! Bicycle troops vs armored cars and a tank.

Then I watched "The King's Choice" about the surrender of Norway during the same time period.

Nice game – also love the early war actions, notable for the lack of wall-to-wall armour; great terrain and nice figs

Simply awesome. Thanks for posting. Great to you bring Aksu's campaign to life. Where did you get the extra bicycles?

7dot62mm21 Sep 2020 10:52 p.m. PST

The bicycles are from SHQ's German bicyclist set, and from HäT German bicyclists (the original, really bad set) and some of the other bicyclists sets. The HäT sets are inexpensive (7 euros for 12 bikes here) and you can sometimes get really good deals on some of the less useful/popular sets (Belgian WWI Bicyclists for example). The bikes lying down are Kibri 1/87 scale but I'm going to convert some surplus HäT bikes for that purpose too. I was kind of caught by surprise by the need for bicycles in this campaign so I'm busy painting some more…

Nice game.

I probably missed this, but why don't the bicycles have handlebars? Did the soldiers historically take the handlebars with them, to discourage theft? Not knowledgeable about bicycle troops.
