Stop reading this stuff Armand, it'll harm your eyes.

It is, of course, enemy propaganda – not even in English – fake news;)

Keep posting links to "contrary opinions" to the accepted Brit-centric views of things when they are in a "foreign" language. Drives those with no linguistic skills bats, and rightly so.

I thought perhaps it was a piece of propaganda that you'd been given to read in the Falkland Islands, Armand!

Wiki – Battle of Cape Santa Maria

Not sure if RN comes out smelling of roses on this one – it could be argued as an act of piracy like Armand's article suggests.

Interestingly the Spanish ships almost matched cannon-shot weight (all 12# except Medea with 18#), but the carronades seem to have decided everything – especially as everyone opened fire at "pistol-range".

Interesting link that shows the Brits attacking a nation they weren't officially at war with until 2 months later. Reminds me of Britain's attack on neutral Denmark at Copenhagen in 1807. That led to Napoleon gaining an ally as well.
