I have my own rules, but am always looking for good scenarios. I have two different armies for both sides. I have individually based, and have access to my old "generic element based" armies, again, all sides. We use Sword and the Flame variant for the former, and Age of Reason and 800 Fighting Englishmen for the latter. I have and use the British Grenadier scenario books, which are marvelous. Before I shell out my hard earned Stimulus Check I would like to know how useful this book is. How many scenarios are included? Are they the usual Freeman's Farm and Guilford Courthouse scenarios that everyone else includes, or are they different? Are maps included? I have no problem adjusting scenarios for other gaming systems to the rules we use. |

There's 19 Scenarios. Bunker Hill, Chatterton's Hill, Princeton, Hubbardton, Bennington, Brandywine, Germantown, Bemis Heights, Monmouth Courthouse, Newport, Briar Creek, Hanging Rock, Camden, Cowpens, Weitzel's Mill, Guilford Courthouse Spencer's Ordinary, Eutaw Springs and Gloucester Point. Very basic maps with roads, hills, watercourses and woods marked out. Don't know about accuracy of OOB's |

Lots of pretty pictures, not sure the scenarios are bringing anything "new" to the table. |

We have played many in this book and we really like them. Tuned for BP though |

The thing I don't get is the "units" data. Look at Princeton. There's Brit Regulars, with the chart saying "4" … meaning what? There's already BP distinction about figures/bases for small, medium, large units. I can't figure out how to translate that scenario data. |

Hah, someone has kindly pointed out the "armies" description to give me insight on that table. |

As mentioned above, the scenarios have felt pretty generic. From a scenario standpoint, I think you have all the information needed in the various British Grenadier books you have. On the other hand, there are very useful charts that provide uniform colors for all the units of the nations involved. Also as mentioned, lots of pretty pictures, but who can't handle more inspiration? I already had the British Grenadier scenario books and bought Rebellion anyway. I considered it a good buy. |
