"For fans of good science fiction and old-school Star Trek, there's some bad news to report. The Orville, Seth MacFarlane's comedy-turned-homage of all things Trek, will not have a fourth season at Hulu. Season 3 will be the end. The report comes from The Cinema Spot, but we've been able to independently verify this as well.

Evidently, Hulu and Disney never intended to progress the series past the third season after it moved to the streamer from Fox. The only reason this third season was greenlit may have been to fulfill some international streaming contracts, which is sad to hear about a show that has only gotten better as it has progressed. Th eidea that Disney would pull the plug on a Fox item they have inherited and wish to avoid having makes some sense, as most Star Wars EU fans would know; The extra weight of the show's history, plus the bad feeling that could arise with Paramount ( Who keep making litigation noises at anythign that looks remotely like a "Star Trek" Parody/Pastiche/Fanfic/Tribute that puts no gelt in their pockets ) could have swayed tehm agaisn tit to support soem other independent product.

Not surprised.

The visuals were great, but much of the episodes fairly uninspired, and boring.

Doubt I'll get to see season 3 since I don't do streaming services. Cable is expensive enough.
