Hello,

I was wondering if there was an assumed (or specified) table size for the standard 24 point vs 24 point game of Pikeman's Lament using 28mm figs? Maybe I'm missing something, but although I see very specific parameters for deployment zones, I see no similar specification (or recommendation) on the table space.

The game reports I've been able to scare up don't report on this: the pictures give me the impression that 4' x 6' might be something of an assumed standard.

Any information on optimum or recommended size would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed M

Apparently in a sidebar on pg 6 it says 4' x 3'.

Thanks, Korsun0--I had missed that!

We play quite a few of the games in that family and 4x6 is really as small as we'll go.

At 4x3 there's just not enough room for any kind of maneuver. So bigger is definitely better with these games we find.

+1 for the Crispy person. Even 4x6 can be a bit tight

Dan also says that table size is flexible

I've played Lament a couple of times and enjoyed it, although I think the artillery rules need tweaking.

Our local group uses our regular basement table 5 x 9.
I use that rules set for a lot of eras, one of my favorite rules systems. Enjoy!

Oh and all my PL games use 15-18mm figs.

4x3 or 4x4. We play alot of TPL and rules are easily tweaked if desired although there is a very subtle balance so less tweaking the better. There is also a variant for big battle TPL using mixed shot and pike on the dux rampant forum. We have played Naseby a bunch of times and Edgehill although it's tight to get Edgehill to fit 4x6.
