English Civil War artillery isn't the most effective battlefield weapon. I began with 2 sakers (medium artillery) when I started my Covenanter army. Pretty useless. I added one more. Marginally useless. I've now added a fourth (& last: 4 is the BG maximum).
I have no great hopes for this battery. It fires slowly & inaccurately (in line with historical precedent). It moves slowly & once unlimbered, does not move again during the battle. …….but it looks good! And for me, that is what my "easy beat" Covenanter army is all about. |

Very nice Ochoin. Good to see Scots artillery in the presumed correct colour (carriages protected with pine resin). Didn't fancy any frame guns? Strange that Scots artillery is a bit pants when you consider the experience gained in Sweden, and the technological advances made by Wemyss.

Oh, I have frame guns as well. They're not much better. Indeed, the best my poor Covenanters ever fared was in a scenario where they had no artillery. Says something. |
