No, not painting a real celeb (which would entail fines, jail time or restraining orders) but painting a miniature that does not look like someone famous turning out looking like a celebrity. In my case, I painted a 28mm Black Tree Design WW2 American G.I. that, thanks to my amateurish and clumsy painting ability, ended up looking like actor Barry Pepper from "Saving Private Ryan". That figure is now my go-to when I need an American sniper in my scenarios. The second incident is when I painted up the Warlord Games Roman General from "Gladiator", played by Russell Crowe. The raw figure itself was a great sculpt of Russell Crowe, but after I got finished, it looked like actor Tom Sizemore (also from "SPR"). These two were accidents on my part but I want to know if you accidentally painted a figure that ended up resembling a celebrity?

I once painted a Heritage *something or other* that, when finished, looked like Richard Nixon.
The nude lead looked nothing like that great President. But, painted, he did.

Thanks for the words "nude" and "Nixon" in the same sentence. Now I have to have my brain power washed.

I painted the Warlord Games Micheal Caine as Oberst Steiner figure. It looked like Micheal before it was painted and didn't when I was done. Does that count?

OKM If you still have the figure, please do not post it.

Yep. While I was painting these Companion figures, some of the faces came out looking like famous people. Can you see former British Prime Minister Harold Wilson, "Young Ones" star Nigel Planer, and actor John Thaw from "Inspector Morse" and "The Sweeney"?

Sadly, the bad news is that the company Companion Miniatures, to my knowledge, no longer exists. A real shame, as their figures were beautiful.

Not celebrities no…but occasionally figures resemble fellow members of the wargame club.

@Arteis02 – John Thaw clearly second from right.

Wilson– possibly first on the left (if I squint).

Nigel Planer – can't spot him.

Nah. All my "celebrity" castings are in the SF/skirmish adventure boxes, imitate particular roles and were done in cold blood.

Maybe… but I am not telling.

Not unintentionally. Only the GW LotR figures, Aragorn, Legolas. etc, who all look like the celebrity actors in the film. And wasn't one of the LotR figures based on the Perry twins ? That counts as a celebrity in my book ! (But they were all deliberate.)

Yes – one of my federal law enforcement for zombie games inadvertently looks like Rosie O'Donnell. She is regularly sacrificed so that others may live. Although the zombies often ignore the sacrifice because they are seeking brains, after all…
