He was only a Vice Admiral.

I'm not sure I get your point. Admirals of any grade are referred to as "admiral" and Nelson was referred to as "Admiral Nelson." Are you saying the sculpt is incorrect and shows an admiral's uniform vs. a vice admiral's uniform?

I'm sure any full Admiral present would raise an eyebrow if heard Nelson referred to incorrectly. This was a period where rank and privilege were exploited to the full.

I would also suggest that Nelsons slight stature is not reflected in the model but then it is only a model.

Very nice indeed, and that's only his NCO painting level.

To answer Jim, as far as I'm aware he was called Admiral Lord Nelson, even if he was "only a Vice-Admiral".

Vices a-plenty, so my colonial abhorence to the fawning over him like a Saint is somewhat colourful…
