I got a Marx Civil War set for Christmas in 1966 that started me into wargaming and miniatures collecting. I also loved those American Heritage Civil War battle maps. Still have the book to this day. |

My mom told me I was going to go blind I had my eyes so close to the page checking out those maps. |

Agreed. I was reading those books and loving those maps in 2nd or 3rd grade. I still have both books. Those figs are awesome and still look great today! Many battles were fought when I was a kid. I made sure my son got a Fort Apache set when he was a kid. Those Marx sets were the IT toy for young boys! Catalogs displayed all that eye candy! Thanks, John |

Yes! Yes! Yes! The Marx playsets (always advertised on the last pages of the Sears Christmas Wishbook), David Greenspan's incredible illustrations, and The Confederama in Chattanooga, Tennessee (not shown above). The hook was set deeply and permanently. Such wonderful memories. Thank you, Armand. This thread is special. EB47 |

I loved the maps in the American Heritage books. My friends and I used to try to replicate the action using Airfix ACW figures. I still have the books, but I sold the figures many years ago. |
