Palm trees have lots of dead leaves on the ground around them much of the time. The landscapers carry them away, of course, but there are no landscapers in the jungle. I have heard that old tea bags can be made into old palm leaves easily. Use black tea. Dry the bags. Let them be wrinkled. Toss the tea leaves or keep them as more jungle duff. Tear the bags into strips. Affix them to your bases with white glue. I haven't actually tried it, but I do have a little collection of palm trees that need some attention, and I do drink tea. |

I had never even thought of the dead leaves which are, of course, such a characteristic feature. Inspired! |

That is true from what I remember … would add a little to the base as well. |
