I found props I liked better with deeper rings as part of some helicopter type toy. I bought enough for these three ships and several in reserve.

The white is primer. I learned a lot from this prototype.

Finish the basic hull before putting the sponsons and other details

Fit the parts more accurately so let filler is needed

Put the lander legs on later

Sand the plastic grid parts vigorously to remove the lines from the cut sections.

I also think I will shorten the struts on the side props. Anyone have an opinion on that?

I don't think that they look bad at their current length, but I picture them catching on things inadvertently. Very nice overall though, really impressive.

Thanks!

The props and ramps come off for travel. The ramps are magnetic. The prop struts fir very snugly into the plastic blocks I had cut and then drilled.

I think the struts are the right length but they look fragile and thin for the force that would be put on them from the props…

Other than that I think you have a great balance between the gribbly bits and size).

Like it.

Props to your peeps! … uhm … Peeps to your pro… no … that's not it …

Props to your props!

The supports do appear to be rather thin and a bit long. It looks like they would take a lot of stress in flight. Maybe you could shorten them and add a dummy A frame of struts around them?

How about we say there are very fine wire stays holding the struts? Too fine to be seen in 1/100 scale

Only if you have a rule that allows characters to be accidentally decapitated on thin high tension wires they can't see! :)

tsofian19 Aug 2020 12:43 p.m. PST

They can see them, their eyes are also 1/100 scale

Yeah, but that didn't stop the urban myth of motorcyclists being decapitated by the tension wires holding up telephone poles back in the day …
