I am building for a Eutaw Springs scenario in 28mm. What color should I use for the tents in the camp? Would the tents be unbleached canvas so more of an ivory color or a bleached version that turns out bright white? I'm hoping some re-enactors or spectators have some advice. Any thoughts on how dirty they might be would be helpful as well. I imagine military standards would be maintained even in the field. Thanks in advance to all. |

Off white canvas. I use craft paints, so after grey Gesso, I use Folk Art wicker white, and wash it a couple of times with Folk Art linen. Works for me. Eric |

Tents were generally made of linen. Tents were rarely used in field operations as they were a nusance to have to transport. Tents can get pretty dirty fairly quickly. I paint mine off-white then do an army painter medium wash. |
