My friend and I were discussing how good it would be to put on a huge 15mm game with as many people as we could get with the figures for a WATERLOO game.
each stand would be a platoon, each cavalry stand a troop.

We wondered if there would be interest to do this???

I think it is a great idea.
May I suggest that you schedule it for at least 6 months time? (June 2021)
Maybe at a nice historical location and then they might give you free hire as it will enhance their visitors.
Get some re enactors along too.
Maybe make all the troops as nice cardboard template blocks and then replace as many as possible with figures.
Then you do not have to compromise the orbats?

Nice to see there is still enthusiasm out there.

You might want to seek advice from these guys.

Over 22,000 figures, 120 gamers, a bucketload of umpires and a very large table (24m x 8m).

HI Jim saw that, but we did a bigger game in Scarborough more than 22,000 about four five years ago.

My idea is to max out the figure show a real cluttered battlefield.

martin 2021 is doable

The biggest one I have put together was an 18th Century game for 18 players on a 25 foot table with approximately 10,000 15mm figures. We used the "King of the Battlefield" rules.

All great fun and finished in a day followed by an After Action Meal in a local hostelry.

Well it seems a shame we use so few figures for big actions, we are playing NEY at Waterloo tomorrow, 49 squadrons of 15mm French cavalry, 9 allied squares, 42 allied squadrons, focus is on the small action La Haye Sainte is in the bottom quarter of the table so we have depth behind the road !
