I decided to lay out my collection of 1/2400th scale Tumbling Dice mid-Victorian ironclads today for a mini Spithead naval review, with the Royal Navy, La Royale, the United States Navy and, last but by no means least, the Royal Danish Navy steaming past (the Prussians had a huff and didn't turn up). There are more photos on the blog:

You need a 1/2400 "Victoria and Albert" to take the salute :)

I've got a Hallmark paddle aviso that I could use for that…hadn't thought of it before but why not?

Great looking fleets! As I recall, your Dunderberg is scratch built?

Very nice. I've a few to go before I can hold a decent steam by.

Yep, the Dunderberg and Onondaga are scratch builds from plastic card but with TD bases. HMS Pallas is a conversion from the Independencia and the smaller US monitors are all cut and shut conversions.

Sweet!

The only thing missing is the royal yacht cruising between the lines. grin (Well, and maybe a few thousand colorful flags hanging from stays and shrouds…).

I bet the ships in this picture are just about life-sized on my monitor. Big monitor, small models.

PS: You may have to change the intro text on your blog. This doesn't look like one of 100 projects in a stage of incompletion or total abandonment… grin

Total abandonment…er, no.

Incompletion…is it ever finished?!

:0)
