I painted 12 figures in July. I started out with five of Bob Murch's Mounties. Part way through painting them, I realized one had a bushy mustache, like Inspector Fenwick and another was a passable Dudley Do-Right stand in. Which meant it was absolutely necessary to venture forth and purchase a suitable--sort of--Nell Fenwick figure. This was my sole purchase for the month.

In addition to this bunch, I painted six other 28 mm pulp era figures.

And, in addition to that . . . About 18 years ago, I bought a package of geese from Gripping Beast for my Vikings to rob and roast. Soon after they arrived, I realized their legs were lead-ish and very thin and fragile, and I really needed to cut off the legs, drill holes in the bodies and bases, and insert new wire or brass legs. And one goose got painted that year. I'll get to the rest---no, really.
A couple years later, I bought a pond, and I realized this was an excellent opportunity to waterline a goose so it could swim around the pond (and I didn't have to fiddle with the legs!). And that was the end of painting geese until this July. For reasons unknown, I cut off the legs and replaced them on the remaining geese, primed them, and painted them as greylag geese (presumably the ancestors of our domesticated geese), figuring they were only semi-domesticated at the time and the barred grey and white plumage would be appropriate. Anyway, all the geese are now done, and I won't be buying more. Ever.

But they were still geese, not people, so I can't add them to my total of 12 figures completed this month.

I've completely lost track, got lots painted, buying just what I need to finish projects. I'm ahead is all I know…

July was pretty huge for me.

I painted 51 25mm figures from my Ground Zero Games collection finishing off my Oceaninc Union Defense Force platoon and my Neu Swabian League forces, and starting on my armed civilians.

I painted 62 15mm figures, almost completing my Rebel Minis Earth Force Homeguard and starting on my GZG Colonial Militia to match my 25mm force.

I painted up 20 spaceships for Full Thrust including a bunch of old school Kra'Vak and Brigade Models ships.

I'm still working towards my goal of 350 28mm equivalent figures for the year. I was up to 225 figures last month, my made up math will count this months progress as 85 figures bringing me up to 310 figures for the year. Pandemic isolation is great for my painting! Not so great for the old mental health and socialization though…

Bought
3 1/600 ships from Brown Water Navy
2 1/1250 Wartime Journal ships
8 28mm Spanish American War figures

Finished 3 1/600 ACW ships
28 28mm Spanish American War figures.

Could have gotten more done, but building, rigging and basing my ships really took a bunch of time and energy. Bigger month in August. Hope to finish the Philippine-American War project I've been working the past three years. Completed figures much ahead of purchases.

Haven't painted in months prior to July. I've been trying to spend my time gaming with what I already have(with mixed results).

But with some vacation time from work I got inspired and cranked out:

1 PZ II(all armor 15mm)
7 PZ III
6 PZ IV
3 Stug III
1 Flak halftrack(I forget which model)

and 20 FFL Arabs(HO)

A very productive month, although the above was done in about a week.

Your Kidding21 Aug 2020 12:48 p.m. PST

I painted what I bought in July:
10 25mm Paupan native Infantry for WW2 from Bolt Action warlord
4 25mm German spies for Operation Seal lion. Also Warload. I mean two are German troops wearing nuns' habits. How could I refuse. Still working on August.
