Hiya, Does anyone have an idea as to the rebels weapon types? All I can find is farm tools and scarce muskets.
Were there any pikes? % of muskets? Any info would help.
Thanks for your time and help.

Most were reasonably well equipped, some with weapons brought from Holland. Pikes, muskets and scythes mounted on poles. There were also volunteers without useful weapons, but they were left at the rear, e.g. at Sedgemoor.

There is a summary of the evidence for Monmouth's supply of weapons in the article at link

What a useful article! The possibility of a distinct unit of scythemen being present at Sedgemoor is most intriguing. Many thanks, Duncan.

BTW, for those interested in the Monmouth goings on….Sedgemoor by John Tincey seems to be a good source…..esp. for someone like me who had no clue.
Nice book with maps and description of the armies covering the campaign and battle.
