I've tried a couple of times to register an account with LAF. Each time the registration expires as it doesn't get approved by a moderator. Does anyone have a contact for them? |

Just sent a message to one of the LAF moderators with your problem and a link to this page. Hope that helps. Jim |

This is the response I received from one of the administrators:
Right now, there are two main points where a registration might fail/be declined:1. If a user's IP address upon registration is on a blacklist of known spamming sources, we first validate the application. If the other aspects add up, there's usually an invitation forthcoming, so the IP is not an exclusive criterium, but if they also used an obscure e-mail address and/or the username is highly suspicious, the application is likely to be declined. 2. If a user's IP address is blocked/hidden upon registration, users receive a direct mail enquiring if the application is legit. This e-mail may have been blocked by a spam filter on the applicant's side. For failure to answer said mail within a reasonable timeframe (possibly because they didn't see it due to the filter), an application will usually be declined. For users trying to apply from the US or Europe, this may be a likely reason. So, if you'll kindly tell them to try and re-register, not using blocked or hidden IP addresses and actual, working e-mail addresses, we'll see that their new applications get fast-tracked. Most folk have zero choice over their IP address – I'm with an ISP that changes my address every time the router restarts and occasionally on its own. This means I get lots of IP Voice requests that are rejected by the router from previous users of the address. As for email IP addresses – no hope of influencing them and it takes up to 3 days to get an IP cleared from some blacklists. Bring on IPv6. |

Thanks for making contact Jim. My IP address is automatically supplied by my ISP and I check my spam filter daily. Not much I can do about either of those! I can understand a certain level of security to avoid spam, but this is Fort Knox! |

..I too have submitted numerous requests to join. Sadly it looks like joining won't happen anytime soon for me. What a shame.. |
