Does anyone have access to an enlarged image of the star that Russian Guard Heavy Cavalry had on their shabraques and pistol holsters?

Thanks.

I think this will help:

Wow. There's a lot of information there. I am specific to the Napoleonic Russians.

I just need a large format picture of the star. I'm trying to reproduce it in 1/72 for a unit of 1805 Horse Guards. I'm thinking 12 figures plus a couple of casualties.

Many thanks, Cuprum2. I found this image, but it was very small and not very much help.

Widowson26 Jul 2020 3:59 p.m. PST

Which unit is this with the blue shabraque?

Cuprum226 Jul 2020 8:20 p.m. PST

"Stars" had three Russian cuirassier regiments:
Chevalier-Gardes regiment red applied color
Horse Guards Regiment blue
His Majesty's Cuirassiers Regiment (Emperor Cuirassiers) Sky Blue
Her Majesty's Cuirassier Regiment (Empress Cuirassiers) crimson color

In addition, the "Military Order Regiment" had a different star

1. Chevalier-Gardes regiment
2. Life-Guard Horse regiment
3. His Majesty's Life Cuirassier Regiment
4. Her Majesty's Life Cuirassier Regiment
5. Astrakhan cuirassier regiment
6. Ekaterinoslav cuirassier regiment
7. Military Order cuirassier regiment
8. Glukhov cuirassier regiment
9. Malorossiya cuirassier regiment
10. Novgorod cuirassier regiment

This is all extremely helpful. Many thanks to all.

Caprum2 – seems to me that when the Russians specify "sky blue" they really mean turquoise. Is that correct?

Prince of Essling29 Jul 2020 6:03 a.m. PST

Definitely says light blue for HM Life Cuirassiers. Colour in the illustration is wrong as agree the shade looks more like turquoise. Viskavotov's illustrations have a darker shade of blue… Will see if I can dig out other illustrations.
