You were asked to decide – TMP link

Which older rules or editions, if any, do you think people should instead return to or stick with, instead of using the latest iteration/popular set?

The winners were:

8% of the votes – "Classic Traveller"
6% – "Johnny Reb II"
6% – "AD&D 1st Edition"
6% – "Squad Leader"
5% – "Space Hulk 1st Edition"

But the real winner was None of these/No opinion. If you're going to publish the results of a poll at least give us the real result.

Yea, doesn't seem like a "win" at 8%.

Anyway most polls are easily manipulated to generate a desired outcome by asking questions a certain way or providing restrictive answer options which may not fit or based of false presuppositions.

Nearly all of the rules I play, and enjoy, are long OOP! I still play 2e AD&D rules, just now incorporating supplements published in the 1990's (original rules published in 1989); I enthusiastically play 2e BattleSystem (mass battles, circa 1990) and 2e BattleSystem Skirmish (circa 1992); I also play Plastic Wars, a game I wrote and self-published in 1998, and I still play them, still introducing new people to them, though not through Community Education classes since around 2005.

Rules do not "expire." If they are fun, I will continue to play them. I don't care what other people think. I could not care one whit about the latest fad in gaming! Play what you enjoy; share your joys with a particular rule set with others, to see if they, too, will enjoy them.

Frankly, who gives a rat's tail about being a part of the latest fad… Obviously, I do not. Play what you like. End of rant. Cheers!
