July 15 (Reuters) – At least seven ships have caught fire at the port of Bushehr in southern Iran, the Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

No casualties have been reported so far, the agency said.

There have been several explosions and fires around Iranian military, nuclear and industrial facilities since late June.

Israel? Mossad? Dissidents? I'm guessing Mossad is derailing something.

Stuff keeps getting blown up and no one knows why! Who ever you are… keep up the good work.

Thresher0115 Jul 2020 7:13 a.m. PST

A little revolution perhaps?

Max Schnell15 Jul 2020 7:55 a.m. PST

What comes around, goes around. Last year the Iranians were planting mines on ships, now theirs are mysterious catching on fire. LOL. Some think it the Israelis, perhaps the Saudi's deep pockets are being spent for the attack they suffered on their oil plant.

Bad batch of munitions – specifically missile propellant? The incidents, excluding the most recent nuclear one which seems to have been collateral damage, seem to be almost sequent through the supply chain.

Not a problem – keep blowing stuff up!

Lots of bad luck mostly

It could be someone blowing something up or, I've been to enough middle eastern countries to know that they don't inspect for safety and one of those knuckleheads probably blew his own ship up and the other six went up as well.

Nice to see them on their back foot. Just so the Iranian civilians know, plenty of free Coke and blue jeans when they take there country back! I-phones dirt cheap too!

One word. Israel.

Your optimism is quaint…

You make your own luck, as the Vikings (and many others) used to say.

And if you make a lot of enemies, that can have an effect on your luck, too.

Thresher0115 Jul 2020 8:46 p.m. PST

Too man incidents in a very short period of time for me to believe ALL these are just random "accidents".

"At least seven ships have caught fire (…)"

That's been a big problem since asbestos-based paint was discontinued…

Karma coming back to bite them on the butt!

Thresher0115 Jul 2020 9:31 p.m. PST

Hmmm, one is an "accident", two is a "coincidence", seven is a major attack and disaster:

It's Israel at the root of it, I'd wager. They are using the distractions of COVID and BLM.

As with so much of what this rogue nation does, it's beyond chutzpah.

fantasque16 Jul 2020 1:42 a.m. PST

One catches fire and it spreads to the others moored along side given that they are likely small craft. No conspiracy theory necessary. Nobody is suggesting that it needed the Iranians, Chinese or Russians to set the USN LPD on fire.

Ship's captain pouring gas into the outboard motor of their most advanced battleship while smoking a cigarette?

coopman17 Jul 2020 2:39 p.m. PST

I'm sure BLM is a HUGE problem in the middle east.

USAFpilot17 Jul 2020 3:45 p.m. PST

I'm sure BLM is a HUGE problem in the middle east.

BLM thinks there is racism in America; that's because they've never been to the Middle East.

Thresher0117 Jul 2020 8:55 p.m. PST

You'd think that if one small vessel caught fire, they could/would move the others quickly out of the way.

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa18 Jul 2020 2:03 a.m. PST

You'd think. Now I've no idea about how competent the Iranian navy is or how it functions on a human level – but I could well imagine its overly political and hierarchical and its the kind of organisation where its safer to do nothing than to do something without an order….

Of course fire under the right circumstances can spread alarmingly quickly.
