During the lockdown I found myself watching more television than I had in the previous year. I offer my opinions on the good, the bad, and the interesting in my post here link It seems there are some interesting bit squirreled-away in the far corners of the cable services, hunting for them is half the fun. I would love to hear from everybody if there are some other gems out there to be discovered. |

Thanks. I haven't seen most of these. Jadot is good. Tankers is definitely one for fast forward and just to watch the tank porn, which is mostly nonsensical since it is about an early war battle where a KV1 would dominate but all the other tanks are t34/85 and panzer4/h. Everything also explodes in a cgi fireball in one hit as well. And tose tank interior shots looked like they were standing in a warehouse! Watch just to see tracks go thru mud. |

I watched the first episode of Barkskins and gave up. I agree Grant was a good mini series. |

Watched The Siege of Jadotville and liked it – I have been doing a Dark Ages binge so watched all of Vikings and The Last Kingdom. Both are pretty good although for the big battles mostly The Last Kingdom does it better (except for the Siege of Paris in Vikings – that was pretty well done) |

Great list, with thanks for sharing it. Loved Jadotville myself, and am slowly working through the hijinks of The Last Kingdom. Giggled my way through Knightfall, mostly because of crusty old Mark Hamill, but a few good fights along the way. Plus much delightful nonsense. The new Midway is on the to-do list, plus the Catherine the Great series with Helen Mirren.

Vikings was OK at first but has gone all Gothic/Fantasy to my mind, Last Kingdom has a few problems (uniforms, in the Dark Ages?) but is far better at the big battles and keeping to a realistic timeline. It also covers the complex politics of the age without getting too bogged down in personalities. Knightfall has a lot of pretty stuff but has only a passing reference to history, so much wasted potential. |

I've been searching for 1950's/60's horror and sci-fi B movies. Found some I remember and some that are new to me, all nostalgic and a lot just plain bad. Great stuff. |
