So, finishing off some old Crusader Saxon's and was going to finish off using some Little Big Man Transfers. These have been stored in a climate controlled house. I tried to remove the plastic but it seems to have melded with the transfer.Any ideas on how to get the plastic to separate? I tried water but it just tore the transfer. This is not something I have had to do with these before. I just think it has to do with the amount of time.

I love LBMS, but if you have transfers that are over a few years old, the problem you describe is not uncommon. You can salvage some by carefully inserting an exacto blade under the plastic and peeling it back.

You are better off just ordering new transfers, directly from LBMS. I ordered some from Gripping Beast, and they were unusable, because they were a few years old. LBMS transfers do have a shelf life. I just don't know what it is.

I was afraid of that.. Thanks to Corona I was catching up on the lead pile..

Had similar issue.I ended up leaving the plasic on then glued them on like a sticker with a little pva followed by matt varnish.

While this will absolutely sound counter-intuititive, I've gotten around the above issue by using scissors that are not the sharpest. I helps to separate the bond just enough to aid in separating the decal from the plastic. A case of "not the sharpest scissors in the drawer" being a good thing.

These transfers are very hard to find right now too.

I also had that problem. I contacted Stephen Hales at LBMS to ask his advice. He sent me new transfers! It wouldn't hurt to contact him. He is a great guy to do business with. Now with the insane postal increase in the UK things might be more complicated.

Well, on a whim I tried what Don Maser suggested kinda of… I took a Xacto knife and was able to cut the plastic just a hair to peel it off via the shield boss hole. Not bad. Got 24 Crusader shields done with no torn decals or stabbing of the hand!

I always liked LBMS, and this worked out!
Thanks all!

I also use an Xacto in need but mostly because I have big sausage fingers.

Love LBMS transfers, just got an order today that I placed on June 24. Compare that to an order from Gripping Beast I placed on May 29 and am still waiting for!

Can't beat LBMS!

I like both Ltitle Big Man and Battle Flag.Combine the 2 ranges together and then if doing dark ages you needn't have 2 figures having the same shield design and colours.
