I'm looking for martial artists or shaolin style monks in 15mm comparable to Splintered Light. I've been looking at some Alternative Armies monks (might be too big?) and Essex Minis Korean era monks with spears. I bought some Essex Japanese warrior monks but they look a little small next to Splintered Light.

I have rebel mini ninjas and other assorted ninjas but I'm looking for martial artists in robes. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is to continue my DnD player character choices.

Hey Puttz,
Pretty slim pickings in 15/18mm…. Khurasan has a good monk in their fantasy line. Battle valor is supposed to release some
Fantasy Medieval Japanese soon. Eureka also has some figures in their Samurai line that might work. All three tend to match well size-wise with Splintered Light.
It seems like someone should make a set or two of generic martial artist, I bet they'd sell decent.

These are the ones I like.

They look like they are wearing dojo uniforms and carrying spears. Perhaps you can remove the spears and repose them a little? link

Oh and _I_ think they are OK with Splinteredlights but Splinteredlight are awfully thin. I mean they are more realistic but a bit less durable

Thanks for reminding me about Khurasan, I'll have to snag up that monk and a few others. I'm eagerly awaiting the Battle Valor samurai once Mr. Mann gets his website live.

Dragon6, I love the way the Korean monks with spears look. I had the same idea about clipping off the points. Those are the best looking monks I've seen yet. Not too crazy about the commanders but I might pick up both from Noble Knight.

Thanks for the help and suggestions guys.

Doesn't Evil Gong have a fantasy monks army?

Puttz,

That is exactly the conversion I did. Try this link.

Essex and Splintered light mix well.

There are some monk like figures in 15mm in the Sengoku line at Alternative Armies. If I could find the one I painted, I would attach the picture :<

Here is the link for Alternative's line:

It skews heavily toward fantasy monsters, but you might find a couple figs that suit your needs. And their terrain is top notch.
