Hello All, Anyone have a description of the different types of Lorica segmentata and their stories? Thanks and stay safe. |

This website seems like a good start with separate pages for the Corbridge A, B, and Newstead designs. legionxxiv.org/loricapage |

Loricas (like masks) don't work unless you wear them. :) |

You can download the full text of Mike Bishop's 2002 book on the lorica segmentata from link For the earliest known type of lorica seg, the Kalkriese type (older than the Corbridge types which were previously thought to be the first) see link For Spanish finds including the pieces from Leon that may be the latest known pieces of lorica segmentata, see link |

Thank you very much, here are future good readings in perspective … No one among you had fun trying to see what types of Lorica segmentata fitted the figurines of legionaries of such and such manufactures and thus know for which armies of which periods they were usable? There are even maybe figurines equipped with Lorica Segmentata types that never existed? |
