I hadn't realised that the Dutch were involved in trading in the Med but after thr series of articles I sent you about the Canaries and Brazil I shouldn't have been surprised.

Thanks Dave. I am working through the 1st Anglo Dutch Wars as a series of games. Have completed a section of Kentish Knock and just finished writing up Dungeness. Both fascinating Commonwealth era fights with Tromp and Blake to the fore!
