I received this book today and it is excellent and I highly recommend it. It is a compendium of 19 chapters with 21 authors and is very well done. It is also fairly well illustrated. |

It's pricey, but definitely worth it. The regimental lists/orders of battle are particularly important. |

The best article I read online about the organisation of the Swedish army is this one by Magnus Olofsson: link |

I ordered mine from Sweden and paid something like $16.00 USD American for it a few months ago. Excellent book. |

vW, I'm curious as to your post. Could you possibly explain why you believe it to be "much over hyped"? I bought my copy when it was first published, and couldn't find fault with it. If one doesn't read Swedish, I doubt a better book on the Swedish military during the French Rev/Nap. Wars could be found. Admittedly, there are many books in Swedish on the period but I'm unaware of one book in Swedish that has the depth of "Between the Imperial Eagles". |

It is a very good book, in case we speak about the identical one, multi authors, as you say it is difficult to compare with Swedish books, in case one cannot speak Swedish. But for depth, please compare the link Oliver Schmidt has suggested and compare to the chapter in the book. I bought mine via the Swedish Army museum and it might still be available there for a decent price. Re – checking the book, I withdraw over hyped, it is very worthwhile to own in case one is interested in the Swedish army. |

Both the subject article on the Napoleon Series as well as the book are valuable tools to explore what the Swedish armed forces were like during the period. |

As a side note, I did say "book", not "source", when talking about depth. There are many "sources" (links) on the Net that have incredible depth but they are not "books", which means to me – a physical entity made of dead trees (yes, I'm old and a RWNJ. When's the group photo? ;) ). |
