Good evening everyone

I have started to add the latest units to my Peninsular war armies – French Line Infantry in greatcoats.

I intending to add 8 battalions to my French Army – the first battalion is available for viewing on my blog

link

This unit was painted using the speed painting technique on greatcoats I showcased a few weeks ago – Beige or Brown undercoat and Black / Sepia wash

The whole unit took me about 6 hrs (excluding spray priming, varnishing and basing)

Edit – the link on the previous post was to my admin page, but I was unable to edit it by the time I realised!

Regards

J

Nicely done. If I were to start over- I'd do my line infantry in greatcoat and campaign dress.
Stonewall also has really nice figures, superb range of Napoleonics- excellent service and nice guy to do business with.

Very nice. I especially like the way the grey overcoats came out. Impressive.

Nice – great "old salts on campaign" look and as well as a unit very impressive

Very nice. Pokalems?
That's dating, isn't it?

There were worse items of uniform than the Pokalem

But not many.

Almost worth its own thread…but that Prussian very similar thing, that looked like a pork pie on the head. What purpose did any headwear without any peak possibly serve?

OK, I admit, there was also that Royal Armoured Corps helmet trial for tank crew in WWII.
