I completed the painting of my 10-figure gruppe (squad) of Luftwaffe feldtruppe this past week. You can see the 'saga' of my first try with the German splinter pattern camouflage at Col Campbell's Barracks: link I think they turned out well (or as good as I could get them).
The initial post is here: TMP link Now on to another German gruppe, this time a scrounged up batch from the ersatz (replacement) depots, armed with whatever was available. Jim |

Nicely done Also very interesting troops to model – given where they were deployed (where ever there was a hole, which after 1943 was everywhere) |

My two primary WW2 argaming buddies seem to have a lot of "elite" troops -- American, British, and German paras, British commandos, German SS -- as well as some regular American and German infantry. So I wanted some regular troops so I chose British and German infantry as well as some rather esoteric "regular" German troops such as these Luftwaffe feldtruppen and my ersatz troops. I even have some French organized resistance (FFL) troops. Jim |
