Does anyone make wagon loads for 28mm? I am looking for crates, barrels, boxes, baskets, bags, etc. I have the wagons but they are empty. I am looking to add generic, multiperiod cargo |

Try the 00 Model Railway items by Bachmann, (Scenecraft), or Hornby, (Scaledale), crates and barrels available in from both manufacturers and I would consider them suitable for loads in 28mm supply wagons etc. Plenty of other manufacturers also produce suitable items. |

Don't rule out HO scale boxes as well. |

Hobby Lobby has excellent barrels that are perfect for 28mm gaming. Here is the link: link Barrels are great for shipping stuff because one man can move a barrel. It takes two men to move a crate. |

I built my own using odd barrel and box shapes. made a base the size of the bed. Then glue various things to it to resemble a bunch of boxes and casks. Then coat the whole thing in PVA glue. drape a piece of tissue paper over it and then wet the tissue. It will sink into and conform to the shapes like a tarp. Let it dry thoroughly before you pick it up and cut the excess tissue away. Then coat some string with PVA and wrap it around it in a couple different directions to simulate tie downs. Again let dry. Then primer and paint. This worked really well for me and gives me removable wagon loads that are not period specific. |

I second the Hobby Lobby barrels. Just bought another pack for my Wild West town. |

The one man moving a barrel made me think of the Airfix AWI Continental soldier hunched over carrying the barrel. Perhaps adding some of those could bring "life" to a supply area base. |
