Yes the ones I saw in Les Invalides museum in Paris last year seemed quite small but not as short and snug fitting as the greatcoat displayed with it…possibly the drummer boys? Seemed a mismatched display. |

In those ?Daguerrotype photographs, c. 1858, look at what Sergeant Taria is wearing; is that an original bearskin, or perhaps he's got a contemporary, Second Empire one? |
