I am trying to find a very good, re-enactor quality French Old Guard Bearskin.

Does anyone know of a really good seller (worldwide)?

Thank you.

I would definitely say this is one of the "Bear" necessities.

Funny, it looks more impressive on a toy soldier.

Yes the ones I saw in Les Invalides museum in Paris last year seemed quite small but not as short and snug fitting as the greatcoat displayed with it…possibly the drummer boys? Seemed a mismatched display.

In those ?Daguerrotype photographs, c. 1858, look at what Sergeant Taria is wearing; is that an original bearskin, or perhaps he's got a contemporary, Second Empire one?

The Military Heritage company in Canada. They used to be known as The Discriminating General.

This is a very good company and I have purchase a number of replica weapons and head gear, so I recommend them.
