Roughly $28 USD US. Or about $4.50 USD a tank. Considering they are including decals not bad. But odd way to sell. Wonder why packs of 6 instead of 5. I also hope they intend on selling them individually as well. Since I have a fairly extensive 1/144th collection wish them well! Also hope they will have a US distributor. |

I hear you Marc! On packs of 6, well, if you order 2-3 sets you'll have the company command sections too. As it looks like the Commonwealth vehicles and infantry might be coming out in force with the first offerings, and that the O Group rules are being promoted along with the models, then they might be going Full Monty. (I might pick up some Brits here since I only have them for N. Africa now) Need some decal sheets too. Btw, I talked to a friend who distributes a line of 28s here in the US, and he says the way Victrix packages and ships their sprues in bulk, that it costs him and arm and a leg to consider distributing their products in N. America. Maybe this scale would be cheaper to receive, but he advised me to go direct if I wanted to order anything here. (or wait for another distributor who orders this stock in mass) |

Good to see these finally being released. Anyone know if they deduct VAT for non-UK purchasers, and what their shipping rates to the USA run? I don't see those listed on their website. Looks like about $5.00 USD a vehicle to me, given current exchange rates, and currency conversion fees, not including shipping, and/or any discounts for VAT, if those will be forthcoming. |

So they aren't compatible with 10mm and neither with 15mm. Genius. |
Yellow Admiral | 12 Jun 2020 7:18 a.m. PST |
No, they're compatible with the whole oeuvre of 1/144 scale models that has been out for years. There is already a pre-existing market for these. - Ix |

Yep, 1/144th scale has been a modeller's and collector's scale for years – there's lots of companies that metal and resin cast, or plastic extrude in this size (lots more companies both big and small than those who produce 10mm WW2 gaming miniatures). Now a company is doing it in tandem for wargaming (Arrowhead Miniatures getting an honorable mention here too for "straddling" our modeling and wargaming hobbies). |

@tabletopwargamer Have you actually looked at "10mm" models? There is a tremendous range of actual scales under that banner, from the 1/200 of Skytrex through to the 1/150 of Pendraken. Most of my ww2 Wargaming models, which I started collecting 15 years ago, are 1/144 or "12mm". Companies such as Takara, Cando, Trumpeter, Pegasus, Panzer Depot, Arrowhead have been producing AFVs and other models in this scale for years. There are lots of 1/144 scale aircraft as well. I am really pleased to see Victrix producing relatively cheap and highly detailed models in this scale and I am dure there will be lots like me. |

Which ones are comparable in size/scale to the Tank Museum models? Wolfhag |
Marc33594 | 14 Jun 2020 6:13 a.m. PST |
World Tank Museum models are 1/144th. Dave's list are compatible with WTM. I also find Pithead tends to run a bit larger and is fairly close to 1/144th if you dont mix within the same type of vehicle. Also a plethora of companies doing 3d printing advertise 1/144th scale models. Someone who has ordered from some of these vendors will have to comment on how close they actually come to that however. |
FlyXwire | 14 Jun 2020 6:25 a.m. PST |
EDIT – adding to Marc's comments above - Wolfhag, World Tank Museum models (WTM) are 1/144th scale. There's always some slight differences even amongst the same scale manufacturers (Dragon Models 1/144th scale Cando line models being ever so slightly different than WTM for example). Most of the size differences aren't that perceptible, but it does encourage wargamers to buy certain vehicle models of a type from one manufacturer to avoid the potential of mixing in such 'sculpting' differences. A good link on popular manufacturers and comparisons - link I've found the 1/144th scale 21st Century line of vehicles varying quite a bit from other manufacturer's, but their prices have usually been cheaper (maybe as a result of their inexactitude). For this reason, when doing a late war winter collection, I tried to buy the [cheaper] 21st Century models to complete whole AFV companies with, and bought other lines to flesh out the other units I needed. Example, needed for one scenario – eight different 1/144th scale lines collected -
So now you can see how this moment might be seen as a promising time if considering the 1/144th scale, because from the start, Victrix here has planned offering vehicles, hvy. weapons, and infantry (decals too) in a unified line for gaming W. Europe WW2. Many of us enthusiasts have become ace scroungers to do this scale, but now it looks this might become a much easier proposition! (and as a super-fan of the 1/144th scale for doing WW2 with, that's why I've been advertising this occurring opportunity) |

Thresher01, I bought one of each set (5 total), total price was 109.75 GBP and shipping was 18 GBP for a total of 127.75 GBP which equaled $169.27 USD USD. Works out to $5.64 USD per vehicle including shipping. |

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post but I have Tank Museum 1/144 T-34/76, Nashorn, Tiger I, Tiger II, and Panthers to trade. Wolfhag |

I find the 21st Century items really vary. Their Sherman, Panther and Mk IV, for example, are noticeably smaller than most other 1/44th. They do have a nice deuce and a half though for some reason they come in two color camo so might need a repaint. Their M-7 Priest is a good deal. It is really much closer to 1/150th but by themselves not bad. They also do an acceptable M-18 TD. The biggest plus about them was they were dirt cheap at WalMart when they first came out. Their 1/144th aircraft are very nice and I even use them with my 15mm stuff. I have mounted my 1/144th on bases suggested in Blitzkrieg Commander or otherwise our "toys" would probably play well together FlyXwire. My figures are Minifigs. Also my artillery, like 105 howtizers and the like, by MiniFig (thank you Tom). I found their vehicles noticeably smaller though. |

Marc, you're keying on the real bottleneck with the 1/144th scale – we've had to make due with lots of manufacturers for infantry and support weapons – they weren't the cool stuff that collectors would seem interested in buying much of (compared to neat tanks and stuff they would be putting on the model shelf or in the curio cabinets). I've used at least six lines for infantry and weapons crews – Pegasus, Pendraken, Minifigs, Crusade of Steel (these were casting prototypes), Perrin, and Combat Group Dynamix (also Arrowhead – seven). So now Victrix has been working on having dedicated 1/144th scale infantry and weapons crews for the British, Germans, and Americans, w/HQ figs, mortar and MG teams, hand-held AT weapons, AT Gun crews, etc. (gee, a guy could get spoiled – and what a lucky day for the peach-fuzz, 1/144th newcomers I say). ;) |
machinehead | 14 Jun 2020 5:20 p.m. PST |
Since I just collect and don't wargame the infantry don't really interest me except for the German mortars. I plan on using them to convert some Arrowhead 250/1s into 250/7s. |

Machinehead, being one of our terrific 1/144th scale modelers (btw, I always enjoy seeing your latest on the Kampfgruppe144 BBS forum), you're voicing a good reason why the collector lines haven't felt the market demand for infantry figs……of course wargamers need them. There's also other demands wargamers need from their smaller scale models too – some handling durability. For this reason we can expect slightly thicker gun barrels and stronger figures than what collectors might want to see with their models. |

Thanks, lol I think my head just swelled. :D After market turned brass barrels would be sweet wouldn't they? I'm a machinist and am retiring at the end of this year. I am thinking of maybe getting a bench lathe and giving it a try. |
FlyXwire | 14 Jun 2020 5:52 p.m. PST |
Well I could use some tapered 85mm D5 barrels for my T34-85s, if you ever get around to those. ;) |
Thresher01 | 14 Jun 2020 9:55 p.m. PST |
Thanks for the info on the shipping, machinehead. I appreciate it. The 21st Century vehicles are more like 1/150th – 1/160th scale. 12mm should be 1/144th scale. People are calling 10mm – 12mm, 10mm scale, and they seem to vary from 1/144th – 1/150th – 1/160th. In my calculation, 10mm should really be more like 1/180th scale, and I think there are some that small too, e.g. in the 1/180th – 1/200th scale range. |
