Anyone have an opinion on Warlord mixing with Eureka (or Petty) for Montrose's men? |

Quick answer – there is a sticky topic on LAF showing comparison pictures of '28mm' ranges (pikes muskets and frilly shirts) |

OK I'll have a look- see. Thank you. It is a problem in one respect though and that is Warlord's ranges seem to vary in size more than others. |

Warlord's metal "Montrose Irish" are very good and fit quite well with Eureka's Irish and Scots. I bought a couple Regiments worth of each plus some Perry Scots as well after looking at the "Project Auldearn 1645" blog: auldearn1645.blogspot.com/2015 |

Thanks Camcleod, that probably seals it for my next project then. Good blog too. Great stuff. |

I have a few Eureka figures mixed in with my Warlord Montrose Irish and they fit fine. |

Eureka were specifically designed to match Perry Scots, IIRC. The early Warlord figures match well and mix with Perry and Eureka; there has been some scale creep and the second release of clubmen, in particular seems noticeably bigger. The Warlord Irish figures mix reasonably well with Eureka Irish though the Eureka figures are slimmer. That said, people vary in size and I also have the odd Wargames Foundry and Dixon mixed in with my Irish. Incidentally, Bicorne's MacColla works particularly well with the Eureka/Warlord/Perry etc ranges, IMHO, to represent the purported size of the man himself (the rest of Bicorne's range are just too large to be compatible). Hope this helps. |
