That is one sharp unit. Lovely figs per usual. One of my favorite regiments. |

One of my favourite units. For those who are interested there's some great information on the possible colouring of their flags in Peachey Prince ECW Flags and Colours Vol 1 pub by Caliver. |

I always think it a real shame that they didn't write/publish the second volume that they allude to so frequently in volume 1 |

I agree, I waited decades for such a volume. I have been told by a leading historian in the period that a new single volume containing all currently known foot and horse colours would be published by Helion. When I've no idea , it was originally going to be out last year. I think it was going to include some NMA material as I understand that there is a lot of original source material that has never been read in depth. |

It appeared in the Helion lists for quite a while, then disappeared. The details for it showed mainly black and white illustrations with some colour plates. Flag books really do need to be full colour. Helion are publishing some wonderful titles but they really do need to tighten up their editorial skills. Lots of typos, missing references. They also need to employ an artistic director – many b+w illustrations are poor (out of focus photos, two almost identical photos next to one another in one instance), and then some of the more recent colour plates have been awful. When they get it right their volumes are fabulous, but sadly far too frequently recently their volumes have been let down by poor quality images and editing. |

KYPD38, I agree. I've had one Helion ECW title that was excellent but another that was so bad I sent it back. Professionally I could a lot to help them with their production standards but I guess they have tight budgets. It sounds like they've probably cancelled the flag book. |
