How light do you go with the highlight layer of green paint on your Rifle Corps miniatures? I am painting a unit of Crimean War Rifles, with basically the same uniform as Napoleonic, in 20mm and with three coats of paint, starting with black and going to darker than medium green for the top coat, the figures still look very dark, which I know is historically accurate, but I'd like them to stand out a little more on the game table.

Try a very light drybrush of off white to bring out the folds in the uniform.
