played it in the 80s most of us were non veteran so we made lots of mistakes that anyone with actual training would never had made

We played the Krakow modules around the time the WARPAC collapsed, and not long after I visited the city.
I went to have a look at some of the places we had 'visited'.
The GDW map has two stations in Krakow – turned out that the area of one of them was actually the barracks of (IIRC) an airborne division. Which I only found out after photographing the place – and then getting close enough to read the 'No photography' signs.

I did have some 20mm plastics which I occasionally used, but most of it we did with paper and pencil.

And now Battlefront has done the LAV-75. I can't wait for the SU-130.

I have been using the Twilight 2000 story line for cold war gone hot gaming with CD:TOB or Firepower rules.
