…The new weapon represents an exponential leap beyond existing state-of-the-art anti-tank weapons such as the TOW and Javelin missiles; the Javelin reaches ranges up to 2.5 miles and the TOW missile can hit targets out to 3,000 meters (9,842.5 feet). The Excalibur "shaped charge" brings an entirely new anti-tank weapon, able to reach as far as 30km (18.64 miles)…

Harumph! As those of us who play 'What a Tanker' already know, the problem isn't the range of the weapon, its how far you can Acquire the target in the first place!
Drones are all to the good, but how old is the targeting info from it? – also, what is to stop the mighty missile fouling in a tree en route?

It is not a missile but a cannon round. So no tree fouling. You are correct about the acquiring the target. I know at one time they were going to use lasers to direct the rounds.

Then of course they talking about smart rounds that find their own targets. Have to see about that.

That's very nice and all, and I'm sure it has its uses, but the FOG-MPM doubles that, to 60 kms..

It's apparently an improved FOG-M design from the 1980s era, and can be launched by MLRS batteries.

The older FOG-M could be used against tanks, and helos too, since its cruising altitude is/was about 1,000', or so.
