What the article doesn't say is that, since he was in the PLC program and hadn't gone to an MOS school, he didn't have to go with us. He had the option to go to Quantico and OCS, but chose to deploy with his unit. It also doesn't mention that he never got to meet his daughter. God bless and Semper Fi Troy.

you would be hard pressed to write a more poignant Memorial
Day post than the one you did last year. Thank you for linking it.

In Memoriam, lest we forget those who sacrificed all for
our freedom. I just removed the black half staff streamer from the flag flying here at home. May all of us take that moment of silence at 1500 to honor our lost friends, fellow servicemen, the sons, fathers who never returned.
